About

We're Marc and Amy Lewis.

A husband-and-wife agency for small businesses that deserve better than a template.

We started Lewistype because we kept hearing the same thing from small business owners: their agency disappeared, their freelancer ghosted, and their website looked like everyone else's. We thought we could do better — two real people, one phone number, work you'll be proud of.

Marc has 20+ years across editorial, agencies, and in-house marketing leadership. Amy runs client experience and project delivery. We work from Raleigh, North Carolina, with small businesses across the country.

Marc Lewis

Marc has spent 20+ years in marketing and creative direction — copywriting, brand identity, campaigns, content, and the websites that hold them together. He's currently Director of Marketing at a 110-year-old, employee-owned company, and he writes the code on Lewistype projects himself.

His work has been featured in Adweek, Esquire, Health, and INDY Week, with brand and campaign credits across Epic Games, Chapel Hill Tire, UNC Health, EcoWatch, Sensus, TAG, and SolarWinds.

Role at Lewistype: design, development, SEO, strategy.

Working with us

A few principles we hold to.

Fixed pricing, fixed timelines

You know what something costs before you say yes. We don’t do open-ended hourly billing.

You talk to us, not an account manager

Two phones. Two emails. No ticket queue. No outsourced layer between you and the work.

The right platform, not the same platform

Custom, Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify — we choose based on what your team will actually be able to run.

We tell you when something is a bad idea

If a redesign won’t move the needle, we’ll say so. We would rather lose the project than build the wrong thing.

Let's talk.

Tell us about your business. We'll be in touch within one business day.
